Though my work as a freelance musician has been mostly just playing individual gigs with different line-ups, I have also had the pleasure to work more steadily with some artists and to record with them.

For the past few years, Niko Ahvonen has employed me in different settings. This track is from his latest album (2021) where I did the horn arrangements and played the tenor saxophone and flute parts.
In the music business being in the "right place at the right time" is absolutely true. I had the luck to participate in Ronnie Wood's latest solo album in a couple of tracks as part of the "Ronnie Wood with His Wild Five" (2019).
Since this very special live recording gig was the easiest job I have ever had, I was able to fully enjoy just being on the stage with a real rock'n'roll legend. And as we horn players use to say: "less notes - more money..."
One of the best employers I have worked with over the years has been Tero Vaara and his band called Mamba. Steady and well-paid work with great tunes and excellent musicians and technicians - what more can a freelance musician ask for?
I worked with Mamba on and off for several years and had also the opportunity to play in one of the records (2015 (solo1'53'')).
